Leaders / Instructors

The Scott County 4-H Shooting Sports and Wildlife program is fortunate to have a large number of 4H state certified instructors that are dedicated to this program and they are listed here along with our Junior Leaders and Screened Volunteers.
Are you interested in becoming a 4-H Certified Shooting Sports Instructor? Are you interested but concerned about having to invest too much time? If so, please contact us so that we can address your questions or concerns. Instructor participation is very flexible. You can reach us through the "Contact Us" page, and we will not pressure you to become an instructor just because you expressed some interest or asked some questions. Just click on the button above to reach us. New instructors are always welcome, and you do not need to have a child in 4-H to become an instructor. All you need is an interest in helping our youth learn about shooting safety, wildlife conservation, and marksmanship.
Information about instructor training sessions is available on the Minnesota State Shooting Sports website.

NB = National Board Certified in this discipline. Individuals that are National Board Certified are experts in those fields and are certified to teach other adults to become 4-H Shooting Sports instructors in addition to coaching our youth. National Board Certified instructors are also members of the Shooting Sports State PDC and are responsible for operating the shooting ranges at the State Shoot.
JL = Junior Leader - Youth that have been trained in their respective disciplines so that they may assist coaches in training other youth. Junior Leaders may coach, but may not run a range unless under the direct supervision of an Adult Leader certified in that discipline.
SV = Screened Volunteers are individuals that have completed the 4H screening process, but have not been trained in any specific Shooting Sports discipline. They our assist coaches in many ways but may not run any ranges.
